Overview
Whether you call it unplugged, acoustic, stripped down, or as we like to say, ‘songs from a smaller room’, music fans have always enjoyed hearing new versions or interpretations of their favorite songs. In recent years, artists have recorded acoustic or alternate versions of songs for special edition packages, film & TV, compilations, and other purposes. Many times these alternate versions are not widely-accessible or are only available for a limited time. Some of the performances are live to tape, some are more produced, and some are acoustic remixes of the original tracks.
With the newly created Acoustic Playlist: A New Blend of Your Favorite Songs series, EMI CMG is collecting the best acoustic & alternate performances of their best-selling artists & compiling them into 3 unique products based on tempo: MILD, MEDIUM & BOLD (which just so happens to coincide with how consumers choose their coffee!). Some of the songs have never been released in any format which will be a delight for fans of these artists.
EMI CMG will partner with the Mocha Club to promote the CDs but also donate a portion of the proceeds to help build wells in Africa, provide mosquito nets, and other humanitarian efforts.
